Requirement review / supplier coordination

Control arm manufacturer drawings and material files

Define the requested service scope before asking a control arm manufacturer for drawings, material grade records and packing lists. Armbrook Sourcing coordinates questions; it does not produce the arm.

Define the coordination scope

  1. Requirements review

The buyer supplies vehicle year, make and model, engine code, OE reference for identification only, installed position and order unit. For a suspension control arm, also record mounting hole spacing, bushing bore diameter, bolt pattern at the frame or knuckle and whether the ball joint is already pressed in. Missing left/right orientation is treated as an open question, not a default.

  2. Supplier questions

Ask the control arm manufacturer for a drawing revision, material grade, surface finish and a contents list that states joints, bushings and hardware. Request a supplier declaration that names the exact part, not a family certificate. New versus remanufactured condition and any core charge must be written on the same line as the unit price.

  3. Quote comparison

Separate unit cost, packing unit, freight, taxes and service costs before comparing. A kit BOM and an individual arm cannot share one unit price. Minimum order quantity, sample approval cost and gross package weight stay visible so a USD per-piece budget is not mixed with a total-order figure.

  4. Order handoff

Record the approved sample identifier, the batch traceability check that will be repeated and each party’s delivery responsibility under the named Incoterms. Warranty scope is copied from the supplier document. Armbrook Sourcing does not convert an approved sample into a claim that every later lot is already accepted.

Use the bushing kit checklist when the quote is a kit rather than a complete control arm assembly. Continue on the request form when drawings still need to be collected.

Prepare a comparable parts request

Optional budget and supplier preference can accompany your requirements. Preference is a buyer trade-off among finish, documentation and price, not a rating issued by this site.
